From this R744.com site:

Belgium — 2008-02-12 — Back in 1997, Modine made a strategic decision to invest in R744 developments. Since then, this investment has translated into proven technology for better performing and more environmentally friendly vehicles. Last September, Modine announced that it expects a "worldwide technological leap" with the natural refrigerant CO2. Now, the company decided to join R744.com as a comprehensive source for information about R744 development, CO2 technology, mobile air conditioning, commercial refrigeration and heat pumps.

Modine's R744 components are used in development projects with German vehicle manufacturers and with the U.S. Army on the application of R744 systems for future military vehicles. For its work on R744 air conditioning system development, the company was awarded the 2006 U.S. Army Environmental Excellence Award. Modine is thus ready to support the industry introduction of the natural refrigerant in 2011 with improved system performance, package size and environmental compliance.

Reaction
"Modine is pleased to be joining R744.com at this important time in the development and introduction of CO2 technology," says Brian E. Lee, Global Managing Director of Modine's Passenger Thermal Management group. "We believe our components and system expertise can play a significant role in supporting the environmental promise of the new natural refrigerant."
