What's going on with DEX-COOL?

We all know that some of the first GM vehicles to be charged with DEX-COOL antifreeze-coolant at the factory later suffered from fairly severe cooling system contamination. While the factory issued several service bulletins offering corrections and solutions, numerous more were advised by various auto associations, publications and individuals. Several Cool Profit$ Magazine editions contained several such articles.

Because a couple of years have passed since those articles appeared, we'd like to revisit the product to see how it's doing in today's vehicles. Clearly, with DEX being installed in most GM vehicles since 1995, we would expect that it's no longer the major cause of cooling system problems. But that's conjecture; what do you say?

Here's a few questions we'd like you to answer (via email please):
1. Do you still see the extreme cooling system contamination that was noticed in say 1995-1998 cars and SUVs?

If yes, please identify the make, model, year and engine.
And if so
a. Can you tell if the system was an Original Equipment charge?
b. What services do you offer to fix the problem? (Regular flush, extreme power flush, new gaskets, pressure cap, etc?

2. Whether or not you're still having customers bring in this problem, what do you believe is the cause? (Bad coolant to begin with, mixed coolant, weakened-spent coolant, bad cap, bad manifold gaskets, etc?)

3. What would like to ask the experts about DEX-COOL, or any other coolant for that matter?
