Petaluma, CA — March 27, 2008 — By the questions we're getting, many GM vehicle owners are not sure whether or not they are "Class Members" in the GM-DEX/Class Action Law Suit's tentative settlement. To assist those in doubt, below is a summary of the important web site's containing that information.

Important Dates:
Last date to have paid for a covered repair: May 30, 2008
Last date to submit a Claim: October 27, 2008
Request for Exclusion Deadline: August 13, 2008
Objection Filing Deadline: August 13, 2008
Fairness Hearing: August 29, 2008, 11:00 am

Payment amounts: $50 to $800 depending on dates and repairs needed as listed below.

For a Covered Repair made within five years after initial vehicle delivery:
You may be eligible to be reimbursed for the documented amount you paid out-of-pocket up to $400, if you were not previously fully reimbursed.

However, if you can document that the Covered Repair required you to pay over $1,500 to address an internal coolant leak, your reimbursement level may be different. If so, you can elect to request reimbursement of 40% of the amount you paid out-of-pocket up to $800, if you were not previously fully reimbursed.

(An internal coolant leak means that coolant leaked from one vehicle component into another component. (From the cooling system into the engine oil system.) Whereas an external coolant leak means that coolant leaked from inside a vehicle component to the exterior of the vehicle.)

For a Covered Repair made in the sixth year after initial vehicle delivery:
You may be eligible to be reimbursed the documented amount you paid out-of-pocket up to $100, if you were not previously fully reimbursed.

(c.) For a Covered Repair made in the seventh year after initial vehicle delivery:
You may be eligible to be reimbursed the documented amount you paid out-of-pocket up to $50, if you were not previously fully reimbursed.
