The International Heat Transfer Association (NARSA) Hosts Four Educational/Technical Meetings in 2008

Mt Laurel, NJ — March 12, 2008 — In an effort to promote educational practices and improve procedures amongst the automotive cooling service industry, the International Heat Transfer Association (NARSA) will be conducting four hands-on educational/technical meetings in 2008.

NARSA Ed Tech — 2008 —Ontario, Canada

Held annually each spring in select locations across the country, these educational/technical (ed/tech) programs are open to all repair shops in the heat transfer and engine cooling industry.

Each ed/tech meeting will feature presentations by industry leaders; tabletop displays with the industry’s top manufacturers and suppliers; hands-on demos; and tours of manufacturer’s facilities. Ed/techs are extremely popular among those in the heat transfer system service profession because they provide an unparalleled opportunity for industry professionals to network and gain valuable industry insight.

Sessions of particular interest this year include:
• The Heavy Duty Outlook, presented by Marty Newell of Active Heavy Duty Cooling Products
• Town Hall Meeting, moderated by Joe McGovern of Tanks ‘N Tabs
• The Future of Your Business, presented by Angelo Miozza of West Side Radiator Works

The first of four workshops this year, the Canadian region ed/tech meeting took place February 22-23 in Stoney Creek, Ontario, and was received with great enthusiasm. Hosted by Taalman Engineered Products, the event included talks about CAT, NARSA HD Certification, and Solder and Metallurgy Essentials for the Shop Professional. Other activities included a tour of Niagara Falls and open houses at Arzon Ltd. and Taalman Engineered Products.

Other workshops scheduled for this year include the Northeast, Central, and Western regions. The meeting dates and locations are as follows:
• March 28-29 in Baltimore, Md., hosted by ERS Cooling Systems
• April 11-12 in Dayton, Ky., hosted by Radac America
• May 2-3 in Tacoma, Wash., hosted by Federal Way Radiator.

“These low-cost, high-value local meetings provide a relaxed atmosphere in which you can access vendors, products, and valuable information on a wide range of topics,” said Mike Dwyer, CAE, Executive Director of NARSA. “In addition, tours and social events provide the perfect opportunity for networking with other heat transfer professionals.”
