Washington, DC — Jan 28, 2008 — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced the launch of its blog, ChamberPost.  The Chamber’s blog provides a real time public platform for issues of importance to the business community.

ChamberPost is a new way for the Chamber to talk with the general public and our extremely diverse membership at the same time,” said Tom Collamore, U. S. Chamber of Commerce senior vice president of communications & strategy. “ChamberPost will allow us to reach our audience as conventional methods of communication continue to change.”

The Chamber was established in 1912 and has a very long history of effectively communicating with its membership and the general public about matters that have an affect on the business community.  ChamberPost is intended to be a place where everyone can freely discuss topics relevant to businesses, and the challenges that face many business owners.

The ChamberPost content consists of articles written by Chamber policy and issue experts and the Chamber’s response to articles written by others, much like Op-Eds and Letters to the Editor that appear in the traditional media.  The blog posts will respond to news stories or other blogs, create a new angle for existing news stories, present new issues, and/or promote the Chamber’s activities.

“ChamberPost exemplifies our belief in straight talk and respectful engagement,” Collamore added.  “Chamber members have a strong desire to raise awareness of public policies that allow businesses to grow and prosper – and, through ChamberPost, we provide them a platform to make their voices heard.”

ChamberPost can be found at www.chamberpost.com.  Contributions, comments, ideas, and alerts can be sent to blog@uschamber.com

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
