Dan Schlefstein, Jr., who passed away July 5, 2006 in Merced, California, had spent his lifetime career in the radiator business. Dan was born November 6, 1945 in Maywood, California.

Dan, at 18, started out delivering radiators in Southern California for then Modine Distributor, Larry Sutherland. He entered the United States Army and worked as a lineman in both Germany and Viet Nam. Upon discharge, Dan went to work for Stuart Radiator Company at their Merced facility. After a long tenure with Stuart, he took a position as Corporate Distribution Manager with Daniel Radiator and relocated to Houston, Texas. He was with Daniel from 1987 until 1991 when they merged with GDI and then became Transpro, Inc. Dan became Territory Manager for Transpro and stayed on until 2003. At the end of his career, Dan accepted a Western Regional Sales Representative position with Brice Thomas' C, G, & J, Inc., Charger Air Cooler manufacturing out of Gadsden, Alabama.
Dan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Annette Schlefstein, son, Steven Schlefstein, daughter, Michelle Schlefstein and two grandchildren, Kevin and Tatiana.
A funeral was held Thursday, July 13, 2006, and Dan was buried with Military Honors at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
