Paris, France — 10/15/2008 — As the world’s second largest fluorochemicals producer, Arkema exhibits at the very first edition of Chillventa, an international tradeshow for suppliers to the Refrigeration, Air-conditioning and Heat Pump industries being held in Nüremberg from October 15th to 17th 2008.

In July this year, in anticipation of European Directive 2006/40/CE, Arkema was the first manufacturer to announce its intention to invest in Europe into the production of a new fluorinated gas with a low global warming potential designed to replace gradually, from 2011, the HFC 134a gas currently used in automotive air-conditioning circuits - a project mentioned at the press conference held during the Chillventa show on Wednesday October 15th at 16.30h.

Arkema representatives are pleased to welcome visitors to Stand 212, Hall 1, to talk about the Group’s strategy, particularly against the backdrop of these various environmental standards.

A global chemical company and France’s leading chemicals producer, Arkema consists of three strategically related businesses: Vinyl Products, Industrial Chemicals, and Performance Products. Arkema reported sales of 5.7 billion euros in 2007. Arkema has 15,200 employees across over 40 countries and six research centers located in France, the United States and Japan. With internationally recognized brands, Arkema holds leadership positions in its principal markets.
