Airsept's New "Line Splice" Repair Kit Pressure Tested by Passerby

Orlando, FL — Feb 20, 2008 — Airsept found out how strong their new Line Splice repair kit REALLY is at this year's MACS Convention and Trade Show in Orlando, FL. It seems when no one was looking a curious A/C technician or shop owner (or maybe a competitor) cranked up the hydraulic hand pump on Airsept's pressure demonstrator to 3600 psi, 44% higher than the planned 2500 psi.

The photos below show that while both the tube and the splice "held" the pressure, a section of the tube gave up its tubish figure.

The “Before” shot shows:
Three Line Splices installed in series on a section of aluminum tubing and mounted on a display board. They're on a line and holding 2500 psi of hydraulic pressure. The display was designed to show that none of the three Splices leaked, even at that high pressure.

The “After” shots show two things:
First, a section of the ½” aluminum tubing failed shape-wise and now looks more like an aluminum roller. Second, none of AirSept’s Line Splices sustained any damage or leaked as a result of being exposed to 3600 psi, not even the Splice closest to the rounded tubing section.
